I remember seeing them on that rock wall when I was a kid too. it was about 20 years ago, I wonder if they are still there.

 

I thought I was crazy... Really thought I saw one last year during Febuary. Turned around at next exit which was like 8 miles down the road and by time got back around could not remember exactly where it was and didnt see it again...

We saw them once or twice in the late 80's early 90's. havnt seen em since.

Wait, on the way back from Pa, last Monday, I noticed for the first time something sitting on a rock ledge. I thought it to be a statue, as I was driving by at 70. Didn't take notice of location though.

A fond childhood memory.

 

There was a herd of 7-10 goats up there they belonged to a farmer who owned the land.Only 1 white goat.Friend of mine used to lease the ground.Never had to post the 78 side LOL.Griz

Goat and land belonged to a Mr.May don't think he even lives there any more I asked him about that goat once and he told me he owned that billy and he would make trouble with the guy next door by eating his shrubs when the guy had had enough he told Mr.May that he was gonna shoot that goat if he didn't do something to solve the problem.
Mr. May took the goat to the back of his land and he stayed there till he died. Mountain goat no I think he was a Neubian still cool to see him up on the rocks back than bet it has been 8 to 10 years since I last saw him.

i even saw him standing behind the guardrail a few times.

 

I saw that goat years ago right up on 78 through jugtown mountain when I was a little kid! I am shocked to hear about that again! I heard that it fell and died.

I thought I was crazy. I saw this about two weeks ago while headed out to Cabelas. It was a large sheep or goat with horns bedded on a rock ledge.

Crazy...I figured it must just be loose from a local farm.

 

i hunt right in that area near merrill creek. we used to see feral goats all time while deer hunting. supposedly there was a fire at a local farm and some goats got loose and went feral. i do remember always seeing deer with those goats during the 6 day and those goats were real jittery too. they slowly died out or got shot as i haven't seen any in about 4 years. but what a memory of seeing a small herd of deer running through the woods with a big black and white goat leading the way

When I worked at Mountainview Prison 15 years ago I
thought I was seeing things when I passed one on a ridge on 78.

 

I'm 32 and remember that goat...Jugtown Mt. I remember looking for him as a child.

 

im 29 and grew up in the area. there was 2 goats to start one got killed and the other lasted years. im talking 20 years ago. my mom alwasy use to drive slow to see the goat. he died about 12 -13 years ago. he ell to his death.

 

I lived over there twenty years ago and do remember the goat and also the colored ice, anyone know how the ice got the colors on it. Today I would think it was paint ball guns.
