Wow, I was out for a while, but fortunatly picked something, even though it sucks it is paying some of the bills. Four out of five in my department where from other places that got laid off at some time this year.

I used to be a software release manager managing...software releases, full version releases, service packs, hot fixes and lots of project management. I am open for doing the same exact thing if I can find a job or willing to modify my career and try something totally different. Sure would love to get a job that would prevent me from traveling to India like I have done before...

Now, just doing some painting jobs. I would consider starting my own painting business if I could consistently get 4-7 painting jobs lined up and knew there would always be work. House painting is fun and I did a lot of that in my college days.

Until then, I am busy with chores at home and will look to do more weekday bow hunting with my available time.

I was out for almost three months earlier this year. Picked up a consulting gig - any port in a storm, right?

This outsourcing to India is really killing the IT industry here. Where I am working now it might as well be in Bombay. Not that I have anything against Indians per se but with all the American IT folks out of work how can the government justify all of those Indian work visas?

Your TARP dollars at work, friends!

Out since October. Been doing some minor consulting on the side in a start-up. Only positive thing was I got out for a total of 56 days in the 2008/2009 bird season. My friend claims I purposely planned it this way. He calls it a "planned hunting layoff.
