Noisy day with leaf blowers and people chatting and grilling outside... But that did not bother a beautiful 8 pt that made an aggressive rub and scrape behind me... Came right into my food plot at 540 (I threw down last weekend)... Broadside when released arrow then he 1/4 to me when arrow hit 18 yards, the arrow with red nockturnal entered over his left shoulder stopping at an angle toward his right rear gut. Did not pass threw at first. Saw the red light center mass herd the hollow sound of broadhead hitting ribs...
Let him sit for an hour... Slowly tracked, saw him get up and move tenderly away, went back sat another 1.5hr. Found blood trail, found 3/4 of my arrow with broadhead (grim reaper) no stomach contents, darker blood with some grit...(maybe liver hit). Tracked some more blood eventually slowing up... Left two arrows to mark path for TOMORROW!!
