As long as any representative stands behind the progress of 'hunting', then I don't think it’s an issue.
This also means that any and all attack or actions against 'hunting' is met with equal resistance. In other words, legislation against x-bow hunting is fought just as vehemently as if it were against bow, gun or muzzy hunting.

If a Mod puts the thread back up... I'll personally get accused of artifically generating controversy to make NJH more popular. Then, after I am thrown under the bus... it will run back over me a couple more times. LOL... By who? You guys know who.

"I" don't think that is "right or prudent" at all! For some that "issue" is a hot button topic for MOST it's NOT AT ALL (no matter what some wish for us to believe)....

Kris, IMHO YOU have EVERY right to do what you think is best, and don't need to answer to anyone......

You "might" want to visit the crossbow section and SEE WHO (and which groups ) ARE fighting F&G over crossbow inclusion right now)

They're very seriously fighting other hunter's choice of archery weapon in an open to the public bow season in NJ....discounting EVERY effort to show them how short-sighted and indeed foolish it it to try to dictate you wishes upon others.....

So Randolph in YOUR opinion a STATE WIDE POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE that supports ALL Outdoors people and all conservationists have to be of ALL the same position on every F+G issue as you for them to be effective politicaly? That is basicly what you demanded in your thread.
Get over it NOT EVERYONE thinks Crossbows belong in the early bowseasons and havng tht opinion has nothing to do with the POLITICS OF PROTECTING HUNTING FISHING AND OTHER FORMS OF CONSUMPTIVE CONSERVATION!

Has anyone ever met this clown? I've had my suspicions about him for a while now[spy]

My goodness, I'm so glad crossbows are not a very divisive issue
YOU should be proud for YOUR efforts to make it SO DIVISIVE.....[down][down][down][down]

Go for it dbuck.... Give it your best shot.
I have supported more members on here than you will ever know. I went to both the NJOA gatherings. In the last 4 years I went with 6 buddies through their hunting test including my wife & this year my 12yrold too. I do my part as a hunter... I write ,recriut, reenforce hunting privelges. I don't put guys down on their method of hunting, size of the game they harvest, weapon they choose. It is no secret that I have a boner for clubs but it a legal way of hunting & have always said that they have every right to drive anywhere they want.
Nice job tring to hyjack this thread but your spidie sense is way off on this one.

Iy you all don't mind I am going to cut and paste my response from the other thread. FYI - the NJOA council has not addressed the crossbow issue. In fact, Brian has not requested that the council consider the issue, nor has Joe Mills (President, UBNJ) discussed the issue with me in any official capacity (he and I have discussed the issue as hunters but not in any official capacity.)

We all have to understand that we are NOT (anglers, hunters, trappers, conservationists) going to all be in agreement at all times, or agree on all issues, or prioritize all issues the same. That is just a fact.

The idea behind the NJOA is to unite all of us 1 million or so sportsmen/sportswomen to leverage our numbers on Trenton and advance our cause. We know we will not be in agreement on every issue - the idea is to work together so that at the end of the day we are ALL better off than when the day began.

There are approx. 10 or so council members now (the list continues to grow) - and we are not always in agreement, and there are issues we discuss that are important to some people and not important to others because of our diverse interests. The challange is to manage our diverse interests and priorities to advance our common cause.

No one said it would be easy, no one said we will all be happy with every decision that is made, and no one was chosen to be on the council because of their stance on a topic. The council is made up of people knowledable and committed to conservation by means of fishing, hunting and trapping. A person's position on crossbow does not preclude them from being knowledgable and committed to conservation by means of fishing, hunting and trapping.

I second that.[up]Everyone on the NJOA council has 1 Vote, and there Personal Opinions. We "ALL" cant agree on every issue. Thats Why there is a Council and A Vote. As for My opinion on Brian Well he's the person we all want on our side "Meaning Sportsmen" He Works his Butt off to protect our Sport that we all love. So I think instead of Calling him Names Just say Thanks. Again this is my personal opinion. Thanks

You guys will find anything to fight with yourselves about it seems and I don't think it really has anything to do with the crossbows in the true reality of things maybe.[wallmad][wallmad][wallmad]

It's about control and what you can keep out of the bow season. What does anyone really care about what is used to harvest an animal???????????

What does it have to do with you and the fate of hunting in general if a person uses a crossbow or not?

You want to hunt with a bow then do that, you want to use a crossbow then do that but stop fighting about hunting because your actually killing the sport whether you realise it or not. Lets face it fellows, it's only a matter of time until all crossbows are allowed so you might as well stop fighting about it.[rofl][rofl][rofl]

If the crossbow season would interfere with regulair bow season then work it out with them to share. [spy][spy]

This is all a bunh of BS and the ones that fight it are BS as well. Its pathetic how some of you will twist and turn things to pollute the minds of others white staging the facts in your favor what you want.

Grow up and go about life as it comes and stop fighting about these JO types of things.

This is sad and worry about yourself![rofl][rofl][rofl][rofl]

In case some of you don't al ready know there are things that are changed in some post that either are deleted or changed to fit what some mods think it should read. That friends isnot freedom of speach now is it?

Let the lava roll down hill and burn your hut[cool][kiss][kiss][kiss][kiss]

my only question is this.... i dont know much about the whole deal and i really dont have an opinion about it except that like cat said it is just another way to harvest an animal and all the money being spent on this issue could go towards a better fight for our hunting cause instead... just my opinion
