Great idea, has anyone done this with their summit climbers???
good idea but i be afaid of water getting trapped inside and freezing and splitting it if you do that make sure its 100% i use that pipe insulation buy at lows 8 foot lengths and its pre split and hold in place with wire ties on risers and end and i use self adhesive felt on the platform that i bought at walmart and its still there after two seasons. deafening the platform is the most important in my opinion

Hey dude i too hunt with a climbing stand.(SUMMIT) They are fairly large and can be noisey but just like the other guys said practice practice practice.

If i can i will leave my treestand at the base of a tree for the next hunt. When carrying it into the woods make sure everything is tightly secured and when you get to your hunting spot slowly and carefully set it up around the tree.Theres no need to rush. I used to feel that it was so important once i got up my tree to set up as quick as possible but now i take my time and when im all situated im much more CONFIDENT! Good Luck This YEar![up]

I am probably the noisiest climber user when it comes to the setting up and climbing part, and I still see deer. I use an API and it used to make noise whenever I moved in the stand.I took it apart and put plastic washers where ever metal touched metal, quieted it down a great deal.

I've done this to both Comfort Zone and Summit Climbers. Never has and issue with expansion due to water, then again, a climber was never my only stand, and store them in a heated shed, so even if they got wet during the hunt, they wouldnt freeze in storage, great point, though !

its your spot that your hunting NOT the stand..your not chasing awat deer getting up your stand..belive me if there were deer in the area they heard you walk into your stand..making noise with a climber is not alot and doesnt take long...your either in a BAD spot because your not scouting enough...just because you saw deer before the season on a piece of property you still must find where there travling..just because you have a climber doesnt mean POOP..I've thrown my climber up in alot of unknown areas to me(thats why there GREAT,,BUT MANY TIMES I SEE NOTHING!!!..AGAIN ..Scout your area more...ITS NOT YOUR STAND MAKING NOISE.

Hmmm, could be bad spots. I usually try the climber in new spots I think are good. I could just be hitting it at the wrong time. I live on the farm I hunt on, so I know where the deer go, I just dont know what time of day they go there.

I prefer to hunt from climbers. On more than one occasion I have had a buck come running in when i was only half way up the tree. I am convinced that they mistook the banging for fighting bucks. I guess I inadvertantly rattled them in.
