Today started out the same as every other, but ended up in way that i will never forget....after not the best day at work i came home and decided to go sit at a local spot for the last hour and a half of light. Upon entry to the woods i spooked a doe, which was snorting and carrying on throught her whole jaunt throught the woods. Figuring my late arrival and this doe raising hell like she did, my hopes fell a little more. But hey whats to lose. So i jacked up in my tree and decided to enjoy the scenery. During my sit i recanted the handful of sightings of a buck that seemed to only show himself when i wasnt hunting. With that...I see a large body deer moving through some very thick cover, and it's headed my way following a scent drag that was done on my way in. As he breaks the clearing theres no mistake this deer is nothin to snicker at... gotta make the shot count. I let him come in to 10 yds and took the shot. Shot looked good and i followed him as he went down through the woods only to hear a crash. This woods that the deer was takin in is a place where my three brothers and i grew up building forts, catching snakes, and just being kids which makes it kind of cool.

Awesome deer !!

Isn't it amazing how it comes together on the days when you think it wouldnt ? Running late, busting deer upon entering, didnt even plan on going out...etc etc.

I arrowed 2 bucks on hunts just like that.

Anyway. Congrats on an OUTSTANDING buck !! Great story..

Very nice. Those days are the best. Everything goes wrong and then end unforgetable.
