WOW What a Hunt !! My first Bow Buck Harvest. And it was a self filmed hunt. I dipped into my Private Hunterdon County Spot Around 3pm. 11pointer and i finished lunch and went out ways. I had my usal pie bald doe come in around 5 and take a nap about ten yards of my stand. Ten min. later i have a doe come flying past me and head to the bottom of the ridge and look up and then she took off. So i got ready. And nothing. When i left my stand that moring i noticed 4 fresh scrapes going up the side of a corn field along a hedrow about 50 yrds from my stan. In new i had to get back in there for the pm hunt hoping this buck would come thre and check his scrape line. So about 530 the pie bald doe snaps her head around puts her nose high. I look right and there he is. Working his scrape line coming right up the scrape line.I got the cam on him and got ready. Thanks to OA Team member Arrowflinger i have been using a drag rag. That buck got on that drag scent and walked it right in to me.I sized him and made the decision i wanted to take him. He sniffed around for a few min at 14 yrds and i got the the cam re postioned and picked up the bow. He turned around i drew back. He took about 5 steps stopped and sniffed. 18yrds broad side. I let the arroe fly. Perfect hit !! He jusped and took off. I got on the phone and call 11pointer to give me a hand. Then to Brian and Arrowflinger. I was pumped. I let him sit 40min and then 11pointer who was kind enough to come and help even after his loving wife told him she made stuffed peppers for dinner. Followed blood right stright down to the bottom of the steepest hollow youve seen. He was done. It was the best feeling to take my first bow buck. I have put alot of time in the woods this year for bow and it payed off. He went about 100yrds. This was a selfed filmed hunt that i hope will make our next Outdoorsaddiction DVD. Look s like im behind the camera intill shotgun starts.
