Finally on my way to maryland for a week of public land bowhunting. Today and tomorrow should be perfect days for scouting and I'm hitting the woods hard all week. Pretty pumped, my first ever out of state hunt. I'm at the new Cabelas in Delaware now. Anyone else going on a trip this week?

Good luck! Some friends of mine go down there's every year on public land and do really well. Its a great time to be in the woods anywhere right now and a change of scenery is always awesome

Update: went out yesterday in the wind and drizzle, figured I'll put some scent out and try to get a buck to move in a real thick area, 5pm a doe and 2 youngins come by at 20 yds but didn't like my buck lure and turned around, no bucks but more than i thought i would see with the conditions and only scouting it once, back in october. Scouted a new area today in the wind and found a nice funnel in a creek bottom and another spot loaded with rubs and scrapes. This week looks like it will be fun

Maryland is certainly a whitetail destination. Check the record books. A close friend of mine hunts Maryland and the peninsula every year and always kills a stud. Remember out of state diy public land hunts are extremely rewarding. If you have 7 days to hunt scout for 2 full days ,do some in field hunting scouting and dial in the last two days,of hunt and knock one down. Good luck. Download hunt stand lite app and study your aerials. Save some time. That app also has wind direction for your property . And where your scent cone will be blowing. Very useful and free.
