After years of deliberation and waiting to see where I would end up career wise, I finally got my 1st and 2nd tattoo on Saturday. The first is the anchor and arrow... homage to my love of archery and a reminder that in order to move forward you have to sometimes pull back. The anchor has a few meanings for me, together the two mean (for me) to get out there, see the world and give life hell. The second is the irish symbol of eternal friendship. One is on my right wrist, the other on my left. Now.. where and what the 3rd will be...

CJ at Bayside Ink in Beachwood. Highly recommend him.

My dad beat it in to my head to "not do something stupid" like he did and got his name tattooed on his arm when he was in the Army. Pretty sure he is going to FREAK out when he sees mine, and not in a good way since I think he meant to NOT get one period. Whoops.

Nice I like the arrow/anchor a lot. I'm in your boat except I want to get an entire sleeve or a half sleeve at least. But I need to see where I end up career wise since people's first reaction is EX CON!

That's cool, I like the thought put into the meaning. I have a tat I designed a couple years ago but the couple estimates I got were more than I can afford to spend. Hopefully things are changing for me soon. After several years I still am 100% sold on the design. I'll try and post it here in a bit. I've posted it here a couple years ago on a tattoo thread. At 52 years old, it will be my first. I came close back in the 70's and I'm glad I did, not even gonna say the stupid stuff I was gonna get.
But real nice ink there bro.

Found the tat I designed off a Ralph Steadman drawing I customized. It was a reminder of 9/11, you can see in very small numbers on the bottom the date. But since then it has come to mean much more. Not happy with the direction this country has been going since then, American principals and liberties have been taking a real beating as well as "We the People". But we still stand tall...
What do you think? Any tattoo artists out there? Trade for work maybe?
