Now hear me out. I never believed any of the mountain lion pictures or stories about them in the tri- state area. Today I'm at a family party when my wife's older cousin shows me this picture. Now she is in her mid 60s speaks very little English, fluent in Italian knows nothing about wildlife. She and her husband have a second home in the bartonville, pa area where she took the picture a few months ago and has seen it a few times since. She asked me what is it? Yes I laughed when I saw the picture but then what does this lady have to gain in telling me and showing me? Like I said I never believed the mtn.lion stories but this one intrigues me. Don't kill the messenger

PA has its share of exotics that get released or escape. The game commission is always out catching something where it doesn't belong. I know they had big cats get loose in the past that they captured so it wouldn't surprise me if it was another pet that got loose. That picture is kind of strange though. The head looks small, and if you block out the head/neck and tail it looks exactly like a deer's mid section and hind quarters, more so than a cat. The other thing that caught my eye is the brush in the foreground looks like some type of sage which would not be native in PA. I don't know what a 60 year old lady would have to gain by showing you a BS picture so who knows, it may be real, but it seems a little off to me.
