I never believed in specialized Turkey guns. You can put an aftermarket choke on any gun and get good results. Think about it, you shoot maybe once or twice a year after you pattern. It doesn't get much use. Also, with the advent of "hevi-shot" and specialized copper plated loads, the killing power and patterns are so good, guys are downsizing their ammo, not shooting big bore and large shells as much.

I bought an 835 when they first debuted....What a Turkey and Deer killing machine !
It throws great patterns with about anything I stuffed in it ! Buck Shot included.
Two problems with it...
Kicks like a Mule...and jams on occasion ..The jamming is possibly my fault for short stroking the barrel as the length is longer then I'm use to with the 870's .
I still use it on rainy days when I dont plan on using a blind. It is a kick around gun....a tool so to speak. Price is good and patterns great...Go For It

I've never been a "brand guy", but I love my 835, and I shoot 3 1/2" shells. Sure it kicks, but what shotgun doesn't? The only time I notice recoil is patterning at the range. I had a custom choke built for mine, and I can easily take a 50 yard shot if I want to. I use a 535 for fall turkey hunting with no scope because it's lighter and occasionally I'll get a wing shot.

I love my 835, and I have a 935 too. Both have the over bored Ulti -Mag barrel. With a 3.5" shells it's basically like shooting a 10 guage. Except you can actually find shells at the store for it. 10g ammo isn't as easy to find.
