I have a question for all the hunters on this site...
First and foremost, let me start by saying I am not bashing anyone or looking down on anyone who hunts this way....
For all the hunters who take the time to set up bait sites, place game cams, bring in the food blocks, throwing out 50 lbs of corn, etc...
Do YOU ever feel that this is becoming more work, and less hunting?
I fully understand that all of these tools are used to enhance the hunt, and hopefully provide more opportunities at better quality bucks and deer herd overall...
But to listen to some of the guys talk about carrying in the corn, lugging around the feeders, checking out the cameras, and everything in between, only to have NOCTURNAL pictures once the season gets underway...Seems to be counterproductive?
I have read some posts on here, as well as had conversations where guys get hundreds of pictures over their bait sites; then once the season gets underway, and they hunt those sites a few times, and NADA...
Then guys start to think that either the deer herd is down, or they left the property, or someone is ruining their spots...
I have always thought about setting up some fixed position stand /feeder/game camera sets, but PERSONALLY feel like it is taking too much away from the type of hunting I like to do...Nothing left as far as surprise, excitement TO ME...
I use scent when the time is right; rattle the horns together , and even use decoys and have had some awesome experiences both good and bad..
But to just walk into a spot and sit over a corn pile; for the guys that do it...
Do YOU ever feel like it has become to much like work, and takes away from the overall hunting experience??
Again..not passing any judgement on ANYONE...I just wanted to what your opinions are...
