I know you're kind of new to bowhunting so live by this piece of advice: Whenever you're unsure of the hit, it's always safest to back out and not push.
Your right on both accounts. I think I did right this time. But I tell ya, when your not sure...and you watch him walk out of eyesight...and you know the right thing is to sit still for at least 30 minutes...

That is a freaking LONG 30 minutes!!!! Luckily I hunt my behind my house so I can go do a shot of Tequilia to calm down and wait another hour...now I have to wait till morning. Gonna need more Tequilia.

back on track. sounds like a good hit. you gave him some time and didnt bump him, Im saying you got a dead deer. just because he didnt take off running doesnt mean much in my own opnion. getting hit with a arrow must be wild. start from where you found the arrow in the mnorning and start tracking. good luck i hope to get a p[icture text in the morning.
