I haven't fished it in yrs n I know it's known for a white perch, herring, carp, n pickeral but Im a basshead looking for a close lake in Ocean county. I mostly fish the Assunpink chain of lakes n manasquan reservoir is by far the healthiest ecosystem around, but it gets windy. Figured Forge pond shud Hav good bass since there is a herring run thru there.

There's bass in there. I grew up in the neighborhood next to it.
It's a very shallow lake more like flooded land. Fish the channel along the south side and man made coves on the north side. Buzzbaits spinnerbaits and rapalas. You need to fish shallow running baits. Also if you can catch big shiners in the coves. They work well there
