Still extremely excited right now I was able to take my first deer with a compound bow this morning after using a crossbow last year. Got in my stand dark and early had a perfect wind when I got up then it changed 10 minutes later. Decided to stick it out and not Change stands because light was just starting To come out heard some rustling in the leaves behind me and knew it was atleast one deer I stood completely still with my heart beating out f my chest for 5 minutes before a small doe walked out in front of me at 20 yards I moved me head slowly to the side and saw and old nemesis of mine standing almost right under me. I waited close to 15 minutes for her to finally move ahead to 20 yards waited for them both to be looking the other way and drew my bow back held it for far too long until my arms nearly gave way and let it back down hoping for a better shot. The big one stepped behind a tree I drew again. as soon as she stepped out presenting a very nice slightly quertering away shot I let my arrow fly! She took off like a bat out of hell and I got to see her crash. Waited what seamed to be the longest 20 minutes ever got down to find blood painted everywhere and my arrow stuck in the ground after a complete pass through shot. So happy all of my practice paid off and I could get off a great shot and clean kill! She won't be busting me again this season!!! Good luck evryone be safe
