sure u guys know by now, but Drury outdoors and their teams all shoot the PSE X force bows. wonder how much money they are getting now or do they really like the bow.

its getting to much like pro sports team, getting ridiculous
Agree and never heard of the Drury Brothers. I do just fine with my plain jane longbow made by a good old boy in his Indiana garage workshop.[drinking]

Umm Drury Outdoors? They are among the leaders in Hunting video production. I doubt they are getting anything other than free bows. I am in the business. Sponsers don't pay you to use their products. They give you their product and then it's your job to use it and then promote it. MikeC do you live in a bubble. Just kidding. Drury Outdoors actually have their own version of the x force its called the Dream season.

I haven't shot the xforce yet but if you look at the stats speed, kenetic energy, and decibels it smokes the competition. One thing they didn't include in their test was accuracy.

its not the tool is the mechanic... all these mean nothing if you cant shoot....35lbs to the chest cavity kills a deer ...those kinda bows are for guys who like to say look what i bought

UltraMag, I have to disagree with you on this one. I can't see the Drury team pushing the bow hard only to get it for free. I can't see it being worth it. Heck, I wouldn't want it for free if it came with a string attached. They have to be getting paid for endorsing it. I caught part of the the show tonight and O'Dell mentioned PSE quite a few times.

Good mechanics rarely work with crappy tools.

Sponsership is a two way street... companies give you free stuff and you give them advertising. I highly doubt Drury Outdoors is getting paid by PSE. Our sponsers give us product and we give them advertising. It doesn't cost Drury anything to promote PSE but it costs PSE alot to outfit the entire Drury outdoors team with PSE xforce bows. I hope this helps....

Broad..We are in the Hunting DVD and TV show business, albeit I am a novice, my partners are not.

I have never heard of a company paying producers to utilize and promote a product.

They will, however, provide your ENTIRE team with their product at no cost. They will also pay for your team to take hunting trips. Usually the outfitters let you on for free, but want advertising plugs.

The companies, like PSE, would make up the difference for fuel, dining and lodging(if not provided by the outfitter).

Its all about "kick backs" not pay check.

The hunters specialities guys make about 55-65k per year, to hunt. Primos guys make a tad more, in the 75k bracket. We know all of those guys, and for the most part, sponsors dont cut each team member a check.

Does that mean PSE does not pay Mark and Terry Drury ? No, we can only guess.

Like I said, thousands upon thousands of dollars in free gear, free hunts, free everything. Just not a big paycheck.

it basically cost pse nothing they make millions by guys who think they are elite and need all that fancy stuff just by advertizing it to kill an animal. want me to break out the old bear whitetail 2 a crappy tool and kill something for ya;)

I do agree a good bow is no substitute for practice.... But a highly accurate, well tuned, high quality bow makes things alot easier than a hunk of junk.

#17 ·
i bought a hoyt 2 yrs ago never had it tuned but practice alot...aimed a 7 deer total... all 7 dead period.

But a highly accurate,
a bow is not accurate the shooter has to be

MikeC do you live in a bubble. Just kidding
No offense taken, actually I take that as a compliment. Actually I do live in a primitive bubble when it comes to bows and guns. I only subscribe to and purchase but a couple of magazines and they deal strickly with traditional archery and muzzleloading, don't watch the hunting/fishing shows on TV or rent videos. Just my opinion and only my opinion but I don't believe it's morally right to video hunts for sale or personal use, thats what God gave us a memory for.

Oh yea Rider magaxine for the motorcyclist in me. I'm not a member of any bow club and I attend only traditional bow shoots in the area. I only shoot guns with guys who shoot/talk traditional muzzleloaders, primimarly flintlocks. So yea I guess I do live a bubble when it comes to some things.

MikeC...I agree, some of the technology has come too far. I mean, to each his own.

Some technological things always come with me in the woods- like range finder and scent lok.

I may be more on the "techno side" than some, but I do agree and respect your point[up]

Now, about videoing hunts, well I cant sayt I agree because we do it. I love filming. Its such a great feeling to watch your younger brother smack his first bird on my farm...or to share your experiences with someone and actually have them see it !

The lure of a new toy has gotten the best of most guys. The next lighter, faster, better bow can look tempting. I know I have fallen for it a few too many times. I have a garage full of old bows and equipment. There is nothing wrong with any of it. I just bought new stuff and the old stuff collects dust now. Boy do I wish I could get some of that money back now.

The Hoyt I got about three years ago works great for me. It's actually not fun to shoot. It is boring to hit the mark every time. I don't shoot at deer over 25 yards away. It's just a personal thing. I can shoot way beyond that but there are too many things that can go weird in the woods when shooting at deer.

Now I'm having more fun shooting my recurves. At least it is a challenge. I would really like to make my own bow someday and just retire all of the modern gear. That's the ultimate goal for me. I'm not there yet, but it's coming in the near future. (I hope)

I'm not knocking the new stuff. It's all great gear. Some guys are trying to replace marksmanship with equipment. They miss deer or make bad shots and they get a new bow. As if it was the bow's fault. Like 11 pointer was saying it comes down to the shooter and his ability.

Agree 100% and as I stated my comments are just that MY comments and My opinions, no more, no less. I mean no disrespect to anyone. Let me state that I also will defend the right of everyone to voice their own opinions freely and without the fear of negative repercussions.

Nothing wrong with stating your opinion![up] That's what this site is all about.
