Suddenly, my wife has an interest in hunting. She doesn't like deer or turkey hunting but says she'd like to hunt pheasant or quail. I know its not a necessity to use a dog, but it would kind of be like killing two birds with one stone, pun intended, as we have though about getting a dog anyway. What would you folks reccomend, lab, short-hair pointer, golden retriever, etc... Thanks.

I think a Lab is a great dog.Here is my Lab w/ one of my Bostons.No,the Bostons are not hunting dogs!

I have 2 brittanys and would never think of any other breed.
Remember 1 thing, whoever you get it from, make sure you get the pedigree and it comes from a proven bloodline.
Then the dog is only as good as you want it to be. Like anything, its Alot of work.All the titles that are on that guys dog / dogs took him many years and alot of hard work and training, which is also fun.
