Just got a new boat ...would like to fish shark river maybe go out of the inlet after I'm used to the boat...I fished sandy hook area for years ...moved south not far from belmar...looking for some pointers if anyone has any ......thanks

I dont know if they fixed that public ramp or not, but it sucked at lowtide

I have on occussion for fluke. Usually it's lots of throwbacks.

Shark river is great for fluke if you know were to fish I always do great there

Most of the fluking that I did out of shark river I headed north by the red church and shrewsbury rocks. Thats a good starting point.

Just take care and time the seas while returning. It can get hairy at times, Going out as well. The red Brick in Deal is always a good bet, but just south of SR inlet about 3/4 to a mile is a nice hole which always held fluke. just about as you hit Spring Lake.

Rocks X 3 Ill usually take some nice fluke around the in and around the rocks, Sea bass are great there too. they usually keep the action steady even if your not doing well on fluke. Just have pleanty of tackle for snags and lost weights.

If you go straight out of the inlet to the bell bouy, fish on the north side of it and you should catch em up there too. Deal, Elboron, Red Church, are all nice rocky areas that consistantly produce fish. Watch for the lobster pots, they are always set on the rocks.
