Decided to go out yesterday after work. Got a late start, but wind was right and decided,,,,what the heck. This is my 2nd season,,,and I hadn't harvested a deer yet. I did shoot a nice 8 pter in Nov, but I nicked him and he lived. I passed some smaller does early season, hoping for a bigger one or a buck. Well,, I decided it was time to get some meat for the freezer and was determined to get it done. I hunted pretty hard this year, always coming up empty. I was getting frustrated to say the least. Well, last night about 10 does came in at last light. Something spooked them off, but this one ran in front of me and stopped about 25 yards next to a tree. I squeezed the trigger and the Spitfire put her down in about 20 yards. Not the biggest doe in the world, but one I definitely earned,,,,,,,finally!

Congrats. Doesn't matter the size. Told ya, stick with it, have confidence in your ability and it will turn around. Well, you broke the ice and now it will come easier next time. You also scored at the tail end of the season which is more difficult because the deer are definitely wired for sound now. Was your son out with you? Bet he is more thrilled than you. Nice.[up][up]

Thanks Ed, and thanks for the advice. I was solo this sit, but he was thrilled when I told him. Feels good to get the monkey off my back
