USPS still hasn't shipped our Fed Duck Stamps, we ordered them on 9/30/2014.... they say they ship in 3-5 business days. It is useless trying to find the stamps 'on hand' at the local Post Offices, if IF they even know what I am talking about, "the guy who has them locked up in his drawer is on break (and might be back in about 3 hrs - 2 hrs after closing time BTW) or isn't in today". Anyone else have this delay?

I don't know a single waterfowler worth his salt that doesn't know where to get waterfowl stamps by now.... Only newbies and weekend Googans haven't nailed down over the years which local sports shops and or post offices do, or do not have the federal stamp...

When I got my stamp a few weeks ago in Aug, none of my usual POs in Bergen County (or Rockland Cty NY) had them in yet. They were all still waiting on their orders. However, I've found that in Bergen County I always have to do some calling around to my list of usual suspect before I find one who has it in stock. A good bet is usually the Post Offices designated as "Philatelic" POs. This year I ended up getting mine at the Cedar Knolls Post office in Morris County near my office... they had a bunch. (with that said, it seems every year I get a stamp from a PO that has big stack of them, and then next year they don't have any.. at least when I'm there)

Oh, and just to reiterate what Waterbird said, make sure you check the dates on the stamp. The guy at Washington Twp PO this year, said "yeah we have them" and grabbed one out the drawer, bagged it and flipped it across the counter to me. I just assumed it was the recent one... but while I was handing over my credit card, something in my mind said 'you better check'......when I looked closer it was in fact last year's stamp. Nothing nefarious or him trying to claim the stamp was current... I just asked for a stamp and he had one. The guys behind the counter don't necessarily know that they are for specific years. So always double check and don't assume.

Working in a -20deg freezer all day has got me wishing
