Well after a long year of not hunting from my fall last year. Igot out for the second time this year. I have been watching a buck that I was calling the acorn buck come to this property I hunt. He was coming from a posted property across the road and eating acorns on the front lawn in the safety zone. On Tuesday night he was coming up the driveway as I was getting undressed out my camo at the truck.
Well last night I'm hunting the apple orchard out back and this shooter 6 pointer is heading my way and stops40 yards away. The next thing I know he walks away and I figure he picked my sent up from when I walked in. So I sit down and then I notice from where he was a body of another deer coming my way as he gets closer I realize it is the acorn buck. He is facing me straight on at 20 yards and picks his head up to look beyond my stand and starts eating slightly turning away from looking very antsy to get back over to the acorns. He puts his down again and I draw back and let the arrow go to the spot. Through the right shoulder fletching deep sticking out blow below the opposite shoulder. He jumps turns around and goes back the way he came he got 150 yards and piled up on the front lawn back at the acorns.
My cousin was watching this all take place from the opposite end of the apple orchard he said my buck came in and chased the smaller buck away and was looping around the apples to get back out front. It was awesome night.
Can I email someone the photos to post for me as I do not know how and my sons are not around for the weekend.
