If you'd be willing to spend another $100 or 2, that woulod get you into some very nice 10pt crossbows and scope. I picked up one of the Turbo xlt a few years back. I shot many crossbows and found the 10 pt to be extremely well balanced, fast and very quiet right off the shelf compared to a lot of the other crossbows I shot. Seems very well made. It also seemed a lot narrower in the front. A lot of the xguns I shot were wide in the front and nose heavy. The accudraw feature is really nice too. My wife can draw and shoot it no problem on her own

Forget quiet (sorry Tcook) one shot wonders them crossbows. I would go to Dick's and buy whatever suits your needs. I picked one up for my uncle he loved it around $400
I have a Horton RDX but have owned many different crossbows. There is not that much difference if you use it to hunt and under 30 yards. You pay more yes they have better triggers more features. They will all kill a deer

Before you buy, call David Wilkins at Wyvern Creations (603-659-0575). He will answer all of your questions whether you buy from him or not.
I second this suggestion. I had a guy whom I got into bowhunting at the ripe age of 72 who called Dave from briarpatch recommendation. Dave answered all his questions, gave great advice, shipped it very quickly and also answered questions weeks after the sale was complete.

KI 360 Hardcore, I ordered from a shop online in Kentucky came with 1/2 dozen custom bolts including the 3 in the package, has everything you need. light, quiet, fast, and very accurate plus the ilimuminated scope is amazing. $500 no tax or shipping.

With so many to choose from what do you all think is the best say for around $400 to $600? A good scope and lightweight are important as well. Thanks for the advice.
Don't call Wyvern because he does not stock the Killer Instinct 350, so he will not be recommending what he does not sell.

If you want the best crossbow for $600.00, this is it:

The KI 350 comes with a 1/2 doz spine matched and spine indexed arrows... DO NOT SHOOT AT THE SAME DOT!
The KI 350 has a CNC aluminum rail, more accurate than synthetic rails!
The KI 350 has a 3.5 lb trigger that can be upgraded to a TRIGGERTECH 2 LB TRIGGER! You are not getting better than that, even the crossbows over $1000.00.
The KI 350 comes with the KI Lumix scope, very nice scope with 5 brightness levels in red and green.
The KI 350 ONLY WEIGHS 6.5 LB, very compact with 18" ATA and is 34.5" long.

The KI 350 with the 1/2 doz custom arrows is $399.99. You may like the 3.5 LB trigger but if you want the best, you can upgrade to the 2 LB Triggertech trigger, best on the market!

The crossbow at $399.99 and if you upgrade to the best trigger on the market, the crossbow will cost $549.99.

At $549.99 you have a crossbow that shoots nicer than crossbows over $1000.00! And if you plan on changing heads, say go from a 100 gr to a 150 gr head, you may want to upgrade your scope to a Hawke. Borkholder also sells Hawke scopes, if you would want to go that way, call them and negotiate a scope swap.

I've got the Barnett Game Crusher from Dicks last year on Black Friday for $250. I happened to like it and my buddies with $1000 dollar setups liked it as well for the price. I have mine dialed in and have 2 deer this season from 30 plus yards perfect lung shots with no stabilization assist. For shooting a crossbow free hand I'm not complaining with this model considering I'm using cheap bolts and average cost broadheads. It's a bit tacky looking but it shoots true for me and is relatively quiet.
