I’ve been getting into archery the past year or so and recently got a decent compound bow. I’m considering taking my bow into the woods with me in September and would like to get as much practice as possible before then. Although I’ve been practicing a lot at my local gun club’s archery target range, I’m curious if there are any public 3D archery ranges around that I could visit.
I’ve looked around but have only found 3D competition type events, such as UBNJ’s event next weekend and various private clubs. Since I’m starting out, I don’t want to get my a$$ handed to me in a competition event, and since I already belong to a gun club (and hunting club), I‘m not sure if I want to add an archery-specific club into the mix as well. I’m near Waxobe’s in South Brunswick, and I’ve heard it’s a great club for archery, but I’m having a hard time justifying joining another club. I’ve already got a lot going on with various club meetings, work parties, etc..
I’m really interested in practicing on a public 3D range in exchange for paying the applicable range fees with no further obligations. My gun club has an open house on their archery range day one Sunday a month, where non-members can shoot at the range, and I’m wondering if any clubs have similar arrangements, where non-members can shoot at their 3D range. Thanks.
