speed don't kill deer, kinetic energy does.

instead of focusing on the speed what are the Ke numbers?

This is based on speed and arrow weight. Faster bow is going to make more kinetic energy given the arrow weight is the same bow to bow.

KE = Mass x Velocity so in theory he's right. Using the same arrow, more speed equals more KE.

Sorry, I just realized my error. The actual formula is 1/2 mass x velocity squared but you get my point. Mass and velocity are the only two factors that affect kinetic energy so it stands to reason that an increase in speed will yield an increase in kinetic energy.

I believe arrows kill from blood loss,am I missing something here,my recurve doesn't pack alot of KE but it makes em bleed to death real fast

Dude you must have failed high school math. How could an equal weight arrow traveling at a higher speed not have more KE? The velocity component of the energy equation is acutally more substantial because it is squared, therefore when you compare an equal percent increase in mass or velocity (say you increase one or the other by 5%) the lighter arrow at higher speed has more KE because of the formula. Don't confuse KE with momentum.

I love my Monster. You can't beat it for shooting a lighter poundage and still get great speed.

I am getting 305 from a 330 grain arrow at 28 inch draw at 54lbs draw weight. I am shooting a beman ics arrow 400. No problem ask all the questions you like.
The monster will be my late season bow because I like the easy draw at the lower weight when it is cold out. I will be using my Reezen for fall bow.

Hey I am a Hoyt guy and really want an alpha max. My father bought a Martin Bengal.. wow smooth fast and it shoots great. Before I ever buy another bow I will give the Martins a look..
