To all of the participants in the NJH Fluke-A-Thon... Thank you.

Your support and consideration for our efforts at the NJOA is very much appreciated. It gives us a real sense of satisfaction to know that our efforts are appreciated and that the time we put into advancing our freedoms to fish, hunt and trap is being well spent.

Your recognition is truly our reward.

It was a pleasure to be with you at the Keyport ramp. It was fun to see some of the faces behind the avatars for the first time and to spend a few moments with those of you I haven't seen recently.

Again, thanks to all of you. Your generosity is awesome.

Another Great NJH event [up] and for a good cause. Congrats to the winners!

Charlie, Thanks for putting this together. You had convinced me to bring the boat up and I am so glad I did. I dint really know where we were going to fish but I think we figured it out.

We stoped counting the short flukes after 35. We cought some sea robins, dog fish, blues and 1 keeper fluke. There were close to 10 fluke that were just under 18. Actualy, if you measured with their mouth open - 18.25 inch... if you closed their mouth they were just under or close. We didnt want to risk fines and released these fish. Our average fluke was around 16 inches. We were using fish finder high/low rigs. We had white teasers with Gulp minows tipped with killies (some dead... some alive). Hot Gulp color in the morning wsa white and Glow. Towards high tide was pink and green. Then on the outgoing it seemed like the white was top but was a tie with pink.

We did get to close to restricked waters and got warned. We never did that drift again the rest of the day :)

The ride back was rough in my little boat. It took a while to figure out the right trim and speed to ride through the swells. Where did that wind come from?

Thanks again! - Will post pictures later.

What a day it was. I was stressed out most of the day due to lou asking 1000 questions. Every time he asked something I would turn my head and miss a bite or get snagged. It was great to have jeff and chris onboard again and we had lots of fun. Like always lou puked on my boat ,this time it was orange. We caught 13 keeper and a lot of nice fish. We thought we were in the money all day till lou called me from the weigh in and said we got beat by one once. Lesson of the day was don't make a long run in a south wind in a cc unless you have rain gear. Lol we got hammered on the ride in. Once again thank you to all members who took part in the event and a big thank you to the njoa
