Let me Finish this Here for you Guys "THE ! BUCK A YEAR THING IS NEVER GONNA HAPPEN HERE IN NJ. WHY? Because $28.00 for a Buck tag for Extended Bow $28.00 for Buck Tag for Shotgun. $28.00 for Buck Tag for Muzzy. Am I Missing a Buck Tag? Its ALL ABOUT THE MONEY[down][down]Plain and Simple....Now Chew My Ass if you like[tasty][tasty][tasty]

from what lungbuster and btown said a place like the pines in south jersey alot of that area is hunted by guys who shotgun week only so a buck comes by and he wants meat for the freezer who is to judge if he shoots it long as it is legal it is in the freezer!! can't shoot does during shotgun week right?

what about a 15 year old boy second time out sees a y buck come out he shoots it. frown upon him for not practicing qdma or congrats to him on his first deer?

i bowhunt muzzleload and shotgun hunt as many of us do but what about the guy who doesn't limit him to 1 buck? kinda sounds like a good way to push our brethren out of the sport all together

a hunter should know his limits and the limits of the game at which he hunts

don't get me wrong i wanna see bigger bucks and kill bigger bucks just as much as the next guy but it kinda hinders what the sport is all about?? a y buck taste just as good as a 8 point basket rack

I myself think Will is on to something. I wouldn't mind to see a "NO" buck policy for 2 seasons except for active military and kids. With all of the other stuff implemented coming in to play this fall QDM should be the next thing on the list. My take on the bag limit would be 1 with the bow and 1 with the gun like Iowa and Illinois. Sure would be nice.

I live in PA and it's one buck a year and 3 points on one side in the east and 4 points on one side in the west. I like it. You just have to be a little more selective or your season is over on opening day of bow and you don't even get to hunt with the rifle. I think if it NJ limited it to one buck per weapon it would be better. 6 bucks per season is way to high and unlimited doe in Jersey is hurting the population in many parts of the state especially on WMA's

I like these rules

You guys will jump all over me for this but, I would like to see the seasons shortened. Do away with the Sept. bow season, one buck for all archery, one buck for muzzy, one buck shotgun, and shorten the Jan shotgun season to Jan 15.(I like hunting in Jan) Get rid of the hunting in Feb. Limit does to 1 per weapon. That would be a max of 6 deer per year.

Don't like antler restrictions, but as I have gotten older I have gotten much more selective. I used to be a brown its down guy. Maybe a no spike rule.

Kids under 18 can shoot whatever they want.

Just my 2 cents.

I do know a hunter who takes 30-40 deer a year. To me that is just a game hog.

You guys will jump all over me for this but.
Looking at what you said it has its ups and downs, I agree with some and disagree with some, [confusedagain]. Buy I aint gonna jump all over you for it. ;)

I kind of understand were your coming from with this. ;)

Maybe a no spike rule.
DEFINITELY [up][up]

Our opinions don't matter. I know I am not on the state game council. I posted my opinion earlier I think 2 bucks a year should be the limit. I wish I had the final say,, But I am just like every one else sitting on a key board typing my opinion on a public forum..

Amen! Most guys that have either been hunting for many years and consistently shoot mature bucks think that their sh*t doesn't stink and everyone else should shoot big bucks or no bucks. Also most guys don't have any idea about the state deer herd, only what they see in their piece of woods. I tell you what, I personally practice QDMA so i'm not knocking it. But who are we to judge what is the correct amount of meat to fill a family's freezer or what anyone elses standards are when it comes to what they consider a trophy in their eyes? I live in south jersey and these laws you guys think would be awesome statewide would completely not fly down here. And let your hunting experience and talent speak for itself. If guys are such good hunters they won't have a problem killing a mature buck anyway. But don't tell everyone else that they are wrong for shooting what they shoot.

Don't get me wrong I agree with alot of the things you guys are saying. I think unlimited does is a little overboard. Also I wouldn't be against some restrictions here and there maybe no spikes or something. But 1 buck a year and 2 does?[down][eyeroll]C'mon. If that's all u wanna shoot then only shoot 1 buck and 2 does. But don't knock the next guy who is inexperienced or has a big family to feed all year. This state will never be a mid-west trophy state and shouldn't even be compared. And who cares if it's one of the top? I'm sure all the hunters who live in Pike County love the fact that their place is the best. Their public land is overrun/non-existent and all private land you have to pay thousands to hunt. I'm sure they're loving that[eyeroll]

You give QDM a couple years and he will see way more then a spike and Y. Think about it , what will that Y be in a couple years ? Yes it will be hard for a year or two but then what ? BIGGER BUCKS thats what.

Put two deer in front of that same 15 year old. One being a Y buck and one being a nice 115 to 120 8 pointer. What one is he going to take a shot at ?

QDM works and no one can say it doesn't. Look at the states that do it big bucks all around.
