I just finished reading an article in a hunting magazine I subscribe to, and it mentions states like Kansas & Ohio. Where they are only allow one buck a year. Both of these states rank high in the number of big buck taken every year. Do you think that one buck a year would first work, second help NJ to get recognised for its big bucks as well. A deer management program like this would most likely allow little bucks the opportunity to grow before they are harvested.

No even during the heavy part of the debate, both sides agreed on lowering the bag limits!
Now once the state can figure out how to make more money doing it! It will stay at 6 bucks per year!

Young guys never knew back in the 60's-70's it was one buck during bow 4 weeks in october(pre compound bow), then one buck 6 day and any deer if you won a one day doe day lottery permit always the wednesday after 6 day. Short season, about 5,000 deer shot total out of 100-125,000 guys hunting. I like the antler restictions but to each his own

I agree[up]If you are looking for meat there are plenty does to take for the most part. Plus they taste better.

I think one thing that may help is changing the 'antlerless' deer classification....there are states (I believe Arkansas is one) where a button buck counts as a buck...not an antlerless deer...this would force guys to pay closer attention when taking aim at an 'antlerless' deer...but, at the same time, not earn them a game violation for making one mistake....
Then how do the midwest states do it? They either have a 1 or 2 buck limit. And somehow people going on living.
Then why do the midwest states have it as law? Because otherwise too many people would shoot more.
We need the law just like the midwest states need the law.
I agree that's what we need but if you think it's a matter of time you're dreaming,F&G is always looking for a "quick fix" for revenue,they don't have the mind set to "delayed gratification". That's why I go to ohio. Why do you think they introduced xbows,to make more revenue PERIOD

Hell why not just one day hunt a year wile your at it, if you only want to shoot one a year then just shoot one, but leave us all around hunters the hell alone.
I personally only shoot good size bucks, so I only average 1 or if I'm lucky 2 Bucks per year. But they should stop unlimited does because people shoot them like there going out of style. 2 Does per year. I personally prefer 1 doe per year.
I agree especially since this crossbow Bull-Shit is out there now. [hihi]

Our buck population has been disapearing at an alarming rate and now with the use of crossbows,sunday hunting,and baiting were walking a very fine line to depleting our resources.A max of 2 bucks a year is the only answer!Remember when the state cut the limit from 12 bucks to 6 we had big mature bucks everywhere!Id vote on antlerless only for a year,I know it will never happen but just think of the bucks we would see the following year.

i think we should be aloud 3 bucks total 1 bow 1 with a gun and a trophy buck tag only good for eight points or better that could be used during any season any weapon. or
or 3 bucks leave buck week with 2 tags kepp gunhunters happy with a catcth that one of the tags can be used for either archery or gun or ml this way it gives the hunter the prverence so he or she can shoot either 2 bucks with gun or 2 with bow

If every zone went back to 2 deer per season it would be great. The unlimited season's are killing any future bucks that would be born. No doe's =no bucks!
