So I defaulted/formatted as Covert suggested. The camera then worked great for about a week. Now, without me even touching the camera (its in OH) the camera has reverted on its own to taking one picture every 3hr 40mins on the dot. Each of those pictures get sent to me without issue. WTF????????[wallmad]

I am running 3 of them this morning I had 664 pictures since last night. I get 4000 pictures on a set of batteries so I don't know about the battery problem. Rather than having the Camera set on multiple pics drop it down to one picture every minute and your battery life will triple. The new 3G cameras have a setting on them when you want them to take photos and when you don't that sounds like what is going on. To check your firmware version go into the menu and go to the last screen and you will see what version it had uploaded on it.on their website it will tell you what version you should be running. On the initial set up I highly recommend doing it from the computer and not the cam itself of you have issues pm me and I'll give you my cell I can walk you through most any issues with them. There customer device is excellent and very helpful if you don't act like a jerkoff when you get them in the phone.

I'm not having battery issues. That was someone else.

My cameras have the correct firmware and are set up correctly. I've been running these cameras for many years. Prior to yestersay, the camera was working great for a week. I got probably 1500 pictures that week. Then, all on its own, it switches to taking a photo systematically every 3hours 40mins.

What setting are you referring to? PIR on/off?

http://www.trailcampro.com/manuals/2014/manual_2014_Code_Black_3G.pdf

read page 29 and 30 of the manual. If you have not read this manual I highly suggest it as the 3g camera has many differnet settings on it.

You can always reset your cam with this code from your cell if you have issues which is also new to the 3g

*Set Instant mode #100#i#0#(0-99)
Thanks. I have all those options set correctly.

So to further complicate this issue, my camera, which is out in OH, has suddenly stopped taking pictures every 3hr40min and is now appears to be working perfectly. How the hell does a camera work perfectly for over a week, suddenly go into bizzaro mode and take a photo every 3hr 40mins for several days, and then go back to working perfectly?????......all without anyone touching it?

For anyone who was experiencing the issues I described in this thread here is the solution. If, like me, your camera sends pictures to multiple phones (in my case..my father and I), make sure you don't reply to the other person within that text thread. For example, if my father and I got a picture of a nice deer on the camera, we would respond to each other right in that thread with something like "nice buck"...etc. Covert informed me that this group text, which included the camera, sends the camera into time lapse mode. If you text the camera within anything but a recognizable command, you will have this problem.

Interesting. Thanks for the heads up Chris
