jc is it work that keeps you there ?
Yes...for the past ten years I have worked within two path stations from my where I lived. No real commute whatsoever. (Also the fishing in the river is pretty good !!)

Now that I have a decent house with two car parking, a dedicated gun room etc, life is much better than living in a small studio type apartment as I used to. (Only so many guns and fishing rods you can fit into one closet!![rofl] )

JC

nice. when i was 21 i use to party a bit in jc and hoboken but wasnt really into it long. my sister lives across the rive in the old NY Post building . very nive place. with this big court trial coming up im a little nervious for her safty. She loves the city life and grew up in the country. go figure. will you be heading to the clinton range anytime soon ?

[32 years i lived in UC, took my hunter ed class at the jersey city armoury. learned how to fish @ Hundon county park and hunt @ sawmill, secuacaus AND trained my brittany on wild phansants in meadowlands.]

Amazing, all of the above for me(even the Brit)also, except I was in JC not UC but right on the border. WOW, what memories of the meadows! I'm a bit older than you but apparently the hunting was still good after I left in 94.

Hey Twowitken, I misread your post. I thought you were 32. I realize you lived there for 32 years. Maybe I'm not older than you. Could have seen you out in the meadows. When did you hunt out there and did you go out off Seacaucus Rd.?

jersey city also has paragin falcons the web cam on hundson street is a paragin nest when i was in my 20s i fished caven point pier and at night there would be big white owls on the powline poles they would just sit and wait for a rat to pop out

I work in JC here and there.. 101 hudson street and some of the surrounding river front buildings along with one in Journal square, one on amity st, one on MLK blvd and communipaw.. The peragrine falcons are the nesting birds of prey on the top of 101 hudson. The state has a camera on them.
Bellamy, that looks like a coopers hawk??
Many breeds of raptors are now thriving in NJ. A friend of mine is in some raptor club and they spend alot of time taking photos and mapping these birds. Bald eagles, osprey, red tail hawks, various owls, coopers hawk and its look alike(can't remember name) he always has fasinating facts on these birds. I think they are becoming a pain in the ass where the rabbit population comes into play though..

I must say I never knew that so many from Hudson co. Hunt I grew up in north Bergen my hole life. I only knew a hand full of people that hunt. Good luck to all

I justed remembered my grandfather work on a garbage truck one time and found a redtail hawk with an broken wing in newark. we had it the living room with a leather bag over its head and an old wooded t mop pole for an stand and fed it ham, then released her at the palisades. i must have been 8 or 9 at the time.

JCChartboy... I grew up on Van Reypen and Tonnele. I knew all the folks on that block. My family was the super @ 6 Tonnele, and my friend's Grandfather was the super @ 151. Before the school that was a Jewish Restaruant and deli called "Greenspans." Back then, the Apple Tree House was a Funeral home, and my friend's Mother owned the parking lot on the corner V. Great area with lots of memories!. Across the street was an A & P with entrances on the Blvd and Sip, and before that it was a 5 & 10. Just some random thoughts.
