My buddy made a poor hit on a beautiful 8 we tracked him an hour later small drops of blood and bone we kicked this buck up 4 times I put a shot on him an he went down and then took off again ran 50 yards an bedded down again so we thought I got him, WRONG left leg blew off an when he took a step forward his chest hits the ground. Followed him through 3 property's he's hurting but he will live.

I didn't know we had so many otego people on the boards! I'm In nj currently (god knows why) but I grew up half my time in West Laurens (other half in brooklyn), went to laurens central for a good number of years. My mom lives near west end side of town. I have a house and land still in west laurens, up on crawford rd. My brother graduated from Suny a few years back and is going to bignhamton for his masters.
I plan to come back home and retire there sooner or later. Thats the idea anyway.

I'm at our camp in Maryland township. Bout 15 mins from oneonta. Dad shot 9 pt. I shot 8 pt. Having breakfast now then heading home.

Went to school there in the early 80's...Main st Oneonta had about 30 bars in a couple of block stretch back with a 4AM closing time then...pretty wild. Only a couple of bars left now with the 21 year drinking age.

you actually typed the words "he's hurting but he will live." you and your buddy flung some lead at an animal, blew his leg off and never recovered the animal. he may live for a day or two until the coyotes tear him to pieces, he's too weak to get up and eat or he succumbs to infection. all 3 are terrible ways to die. you should be sad and kicking yourself for the way you tortured that animal and the way he'll die, not be posting about it on an internet forum. I think THAT is why people think you're an idiot
