i have hunted all over zone 3 ,not seeing many deer. i think the bear and the yotes are doing a number on them.
absolutely they are hard on the fawn crop in the spring they actually watch fawns get dropped from the womb and snatch them up.ive been preaching this i got a bad yote problem in 23 and im gna try to kill as many as possible.

Zone 3 never had to many deer in it, plus there are a few "local" boys that shoot'em all year, that and poach walleyes out of the wanaque river, I've turned a bunch of them in over the years.

i posted how f... up this states wildlife program is.why dont they redistribute herds throughout the state.i understand that hunterdon and mercer co has alot of deer why dont they spread the wealth throughout the state.i know zone 23 37 1 22 and 24 can use some deer.they complain of the overpop and the damage they do.i think alot of us would volunteer our services and assist in this program knowing we would benefit from it.i see the amount they harvest in zone 12 and 11 and 10.they need to spread them out.

It doesn't work that way pete.

Deer, if they are going to be "relocated" must come from the same habitat type, you can't take deer from an area that's heavally farmed and put them in an area like zone 3 that is 99.9% big woods.

and vicea versa, it takes a deers stomach about two months to adapt to a new food sorce, I.E. corn or other farm crops to acorns, or the other way around.

the bacteirial load in the deers gut can't handle such a drastic change and they will starve with full bellies.

if a relocation program was to work the deer to be moved into z3 would have to come from a forested area rather thatn an agricultueral one.
