I acquired a new spot the other day. Went in there with my climber and needless to say I found a honey hole. I found the perfect tree for a hang on. Only dilemma is it needs some limbs cleared and small saplings topped. What's your guys opinions on trimming this time of year. Do you think the change in the woods spooks the deer or puts them in high alert?

If you need to trim to hunt it effectively then just do it. The woods are constantly changing at this time of year. Leaves are falling, branches are falling and even some trees are falling. I scout new areas all hunting season and have put up stands at 11am and hed deer bedded 25 yards from them later that afternoon when I returned. Have also shot deer same day as putting up stands and trimming. Get in get out. Good luck on your new honey hole

I try to cut as little as possible. But you have to do what you have to do. Especially if you need to do it to get your stand in the tree. I would try to keep cutting on ground level to a minimum
