I checked out Colorado State University in Fort Collins and loved it. I want to go back for wildlife biology. Drag...you come back to NJ for work? Thats the problem out west...the most beautiful places are far away from the jobs.

Kind of... but not really. We are still trying to figure it out! LOL...

Colorado State University in Fort Collins
The place isn't bad. I was only every there once. I had to drive from Denver to Ft. Collins because I really needed to borrow a book they had.

Plus, Univ. Colorado vs. Colorado St. football games are pretty cool.

I have lived in NJ my whole life.... I am a creature of habit and change isn't easy
Yeah same here...you get used to your life here and it's hard to break away sometimes.

The only real appeal to NJ is its so close to so many different things: ocean, mountains, cities, etc...and economically is strong but you pay a sick price to live here.

The hard part is finding a job that matches your current skill sets (at least for me) some place you actually want to be. My job (computers) has me bound to cities...so I have to either find a niche market somewhere in Podunk, or I have to find a place that has a reasonable commute to a city but where I can live within stones throw of the ocean, farms, streams, and woods! Good luck! :D

i wish i could pick up and move out but like others say, the work and money is here. i need to be around cities for my line of work, networking. but the cost of living here and the friggin anti's just kill me. i wish i could just go. maybe into PA one day but for now i'm here.

Thats why NC seems so inviting... Minus the BIG cities, which I'm not a big fan of anyway I don't remember the last time I went to NYC it has all those things and the money is moving there.... I'm pretty sure I am too....

With 3 kids in high school, my wife and I are looking at some big college bills. So, another 10 years for that. After that, its up to my wife and I when we want to quit working. The sooner we quit .... earlier peace and free days ...... but less money for helping our kids, grandkids, etc. Tough decisions.

I already own some land in southcentral Pa ... south of Raystown Lake, so that's probably the place.

However, I am very angry at the corrupt, cowardly democrats that ran this state into the ground ... and continue to do so. They don't represent the tax payers of this state. I'm pissed that my wife and I, and our 3 boys, will probably end up in different locations because of what they're doing to NJ.

I've lived a number of places. Each has its good and bad points.
1. I'm a southeastern PA boy for 21 years. Would love to go back.
2. Lived in Western NC on the VA border for about 1.5 years. Cost of living is low and scenery is beautiful. Not much to do and you are viewed as an outsider. Here is a link to the local newspaper where I worked. It only came out 1 time per week. http://www.theenterprise.net/
3. Moved between Baltimore/DC for 3.5 years. Lot more expensive than NC, lots to do and ocean/mts within easy drive.
4. Now live in NJ for last 6. Expensive, but lots of career opportunities. Still hav the opportunity for outdoor activies, but much more limited.

When I first worked in Patrick County, VA back in 96, they just got their 1st red light on a road. Before that, they had one in the high school parking lot so the kids could practice stopping at a light in driver ed.

Jim, That's one of the reasons I'm going to School.
There is a demand for Marine techs. So the wife and I are talking about what state we want to move to.

She's thinking GA. I'm thinking Kansas![hihi]

I was told to stay away from the western mountain section....The east coastal area is where the money, people, schools, and things to do are....

The mountain section is where you buy land and set up a cabin...[up]

I'm really looking forward to getting out of here!

95/5 in favor of going now....[cool]

Jim, we all feel your pain. hang in there pal, you'll get used to it like everything else in the past..
I'm tired of getting used to being screwed.... I don't want to get used to a bad way of living anymore... I want a better life in a better place....
the grass allways looks greener on the other side
The grass over here is just about all pavement and cement....

OMG! i just read it, not an Italian in the whole paper. weeee doggy
[rofl][rofl][rofl]

Jim we've been considering NC for a while. It does look inviting
Friends of ours have their house on the and as soon as it sells they're moving down. Hickory County
He works for the Home Depot and can transfer with the same pay.
The reason I balk is family, I'd miss Pop.Sundays wouldn't be the same without him.
The whole job thing is an issue also.
But now that I'll know two people down there I'll have to rethink this.
