Just got my bill from CJRPC, dues are $200 this year. Honestly I just do not get there enough to justify it. Don't get me wrong a very nice club but for the 3-4 times a year I get there it does not add up.

Have heard about Ft. Dix and Monmouth County Rifle & Pistol Club. Thoughts? Mostly looking for a safe environment to shoot rifles/slugs with my son.

Monmouth is a small range. If they are having a cowboy shoot or any other activity (and there are many) going on your outa luck. Also they have a meeting once a month in Freehold at 9pm and if you dont attend you dont get the new combination to the lock on the gate and you can't get in lol.

Problem with Ft. Dix is it's only open 8-4 Saturday Sunday, and 1-8 Fridays, plus Wednesdays in the summer. If you can't fit that into your schedule, you're SOL.

At least with CJRPC, with your keyfob thingy you can go anytime there's daylight, plus the indoor pistol building all the time. Seems worth it to me...

Consider joining Cumberland Riflemen in Millville. they have the only 600 yard range in the state, a bench equipped 100 yard range, plinking range and a pistol range with turning targets. There is a very active high power rifle and bullseye pistol program and major range (burm and pits) renovations are currently underway. the range is quite close the the intersection of Rt 55 and 49.

Fee Schedule... July 1 to June 30 of each year:

Initiation fee.................... 100.00
Dues...............................100.00
-------------------------------------
1st year dues.................. .200.00

Following years dues are $100

If you participate in a work party the $100 is discounted. membership application is available at:
