More sticks in your spokes....................

Keep in mind there are four different makes of Rizzini shotguns out there. They vary in quality and price.

F.lli Rizzini - make only high quality, custom made shotguns and rifles.

B. Rizzini - produces the guns imported to the US by Rizzini USA, and previously by Sigarms (Sig Rizzini and Sigarms SA5)

I. Rizzini - is better known as F.A.I.R., and makes guns sold under that name and also made the O/U guns sold under the Verona name.

E. Rizzini - was formerly an independent company, but the E. Rizzini line of guns is now produced by the firm of Fausti Stefano.

PS - Some Rizzini's can be had in 16 ga., on a true 16 ga. frame. That's the one I'd get.

[cry][cry][cry][cry]would you stop!!!! You had to go and post that didnt ya!!! Perhaps you are aware of my weakness for anything 16ga, or maybe it was just a good guess. That sounds like an awesome gun. I will look into it.

I found a 20ga. 687 Silver Pigeon II on gun broker that I was contemplating for the last week or so. 28" bbl, fixed choke nib for 2300.00 but heres the kicker..,.it has sling studs. LOL
I'm well aware of the european style of hunting where it is not uncommon to have several doubles, and a drilling slung over your shoulder. A piece of me thinks it would be pretty cool to have such a nice gun, a work of art in opinion, with sling studs. It would definetly be unique.

Would you go with the 30" or 28" barrel? I like the mid bead as well, is that a sporting feature or trap or both? little confused......

28 or 30 is a matter(IMHO) a matter of persona preference. Swing both and which ever feels better to you is the one to purchase. I hunt over pointing dogs so for me it is a matter of personal preference. I have shot both and h ave both lengths funny though I keep going back to a Remington 25 year old 20 super light 870 pump..LOL That is my gun of choice!

As Bob said, a matter of personal preference. I have 26.5" bbls. on mine, and I like them. I sometimes wish for 28", but I am happy with what I have. If I was shooting clays only, definitely 28" or 30" bbls. Mid-beads and wider ribs are often found on target guns but they find their way on field guns as well. My old straight-grip 870SF with the 21" bbl. has a factory front and mid-bead. Yet my field O/U's do not.

Well fellas, I have a tentative appointment at Beretta on Madison for Monday afternoon. Spoke to Andrew, very nice guy and knowledgeable, took the time to answer a bunch of questions.
He has set aside 3 guns at my price point
Silver Pigeon II sporting
Silver Pigeon III sporting
Silver Pigeon I Gallery, he said the wood on this gun is pretty badass.
I'll keep you posted, pretty excited!

Personally, I would prefer screw-in chokes if using for an all-around shotgun.
I agree. You have to decide if you are going to use it or just look at it. If your going to hunt this gun I can't see not getting the screw in chokes. Also look at the higher grade guns. There is a big difference and if it's in the budget you will always be happy.

Ohhh its been decided!!! On the farm if the hen didnt lay she'd be soup!
All my guns are used, with respect.

definetly screw in chokes, (you know the ones that extend past the muzzle) if for nothing else bc they look cool.

I would push the limit on what you can spend.
oh gee thanks, I intend to do so fully!

I have had a bunch of them,(2) 687 EELL 12 ga and 28
a 687 gold with 750,000 round through it and a 687El grey market Funeral Gun, not a 687 but a SO 5
Tough gun to beat at any price,
Go with Optma tubes rather than the Mobil.

I'm callin shenanigans on the " funeral gun".
BUT!!!! I am the new owner of a fine beretta firearm.
It was good to meet you Andy, and I'm proud of you. You showed some impressive restraint!
Let me know when the next pong tourney goes down lol.

Grey market=not made for the US market
Funeral Gun=A colloquial term to describe a break open gun of any quality but often of the very higest, bearing the least possible decoration;having an all blued reciver with no engraving at all or only a simple borderline..less not more
687EL has false sideplates rather than a sidelock.
S.O. 5 is a side lock gun

Thanks for the clarification. Very good experience at the beretta gallery. I almost bought a matched pair of 12ga side by sides for 250,000$$ but then decided against it.

Man did we get a good tour of the side plates of a jubilee today[rofl][rofl]
