Settled in around 5:30 am.

One hundred pounds of corn gone in 5 days. Nothing but bare dirt.

Didn't see anything until 9 o'clock. A big donkey doe in the thick brush 40 yards away. Tried a couple of grunt calls to make her come my way. She looked around for a while but didn't take a step in my direction.

As I turn to climb down, her comes the three toms that always travel together and walk the same trail every time I've seen them.

One of them has a nice long beard. I hope to see them next week during fall turkey.

Dumped more corn, got a cup of coffee at WaWa and headed off to work.

I wish I had time for afternoon hunts. All I can get out are the mornings. With daylight savings this weekend, afternoons and evenings are done.

Hunted from 6:00am Until 11:30am
I didn't see anything at all.

It was so windy it was ridiculous, Then throw in some sleet and it was a real wonderful outing[hihi]

Today is as close as I have come to actually taking a deer.

Got in my stand about 6:00AM. Around 6:15 or so I hear a deer approaching from behind my position. Wind is moving from the west so it's from my left to my right. Couple minutes later the deer is 15 feet in front of me and slightly left, sniffing the wick I put out with Doe piss on it. Trouble is I CAN'T SEE THE DARN THING!!!! It was still too dark. 3 point rule being in effect I hold my shot. I probably could have hit it but without being able to see the head I didn't want to take it - I was 80% sure it was a doe but just didn't feel right.

Shortly after she takes off and heads up toward a ridge - by now she is in a position where I can tell its a doe but I can't get a shot. 30 minutes later she is back but this time 40 yds away and moving. Never saw her again.

Still a virgin [confusedagain][mad][mad]
