After not being able to hunt Halloween in forever, I had the chance to get out for an am hunt this Halloween. I was with my good buddy Hunter810, which made it even a better outing. We went out around 6:40 am and after setting off some of the buck bomb doe in estrus we settled into the blind. As the woods cam alive I was just excited to be hunting on Halloween and in a great spot. Around 7:35am we had a couple small bucks make there way in and mill around. Then a short while later I see a nice buck coming in from where the scent was blowing and he had his nose to the ground and come into my shooting lane, which is 14 yards in front of the blind.
The buck sniffs and turns to give me a perfect broadside shot. I look him over and he is wide and I decide, I will leave the trick but take the treat of taking this guy home with me as my first Halloween buck. So, I pull my Z7 to fall draw and release my Carbon Express Arimid tipped with a Grim Reaper 100 grain Hades on it. Perfect double lung pass through and the buck does not make it 15 yards and piles up as we watch him drop!!!!! Perfect ending to a perfect Halloween hunt and one I will remember forever. So I am done till the week of shotgun when I will be back out with my Z7 and of course winter bow[up][up][up] Love Bowhunting!!!!!
