I headed out with Monmouthzone16 for a morning sit in hopes of getting my first deer with the bow. Yesterday I was with mftom and made a bad shot and we were unable to recover the deer after searching until dark. I felt really bad and just had so much adrenaline while shooting that I was shaking. Today I tried to correct all of my mistakes. I had two deer come in and right before I was about to draw back I noticed they were both little 4's. About an hour later a fawn and a doe come in and split before getting to my stand. I waited till she passed some cover before stepping into my shooting lane at 16 yards and I came to full draw constatnly telling myself to breath, relax, follow through, dont slap the release and aim for the vitals. The only thing I forgot to do was stop her[wallmad], she took one trot forward and I let one fly. It hit her further back than I wanted to. I texted Monmouth that I hit one and he met me over at my stand. We followed a light bloodtrail through where I saw her last and ended up jumping her so we decided to back out and go get coffee. We returned about an hour later picking up where we left off and within 15 minutes we found her with half her guts hanging out (rage 2). Today I got to experience what bow hunting is all about and was releived to make a prompt recovery after not the best hit. Bowhunting is awesome! Id like to thank Monmouthzone16 for bringing me out today and helping me track and drop off my deer as well as mftom pv216 and ducati for helping and teaching me about bowhunting. Today is a day that I wont be forgetting!
