Took my baby girl Payton out for her first Jersey deer hunt on Saturday evening in the Hackettstown area with a good buddy. He said there were a ton of deer and he wasn't kidding. We had deer in front of us by 330 and non stop till the rain came. Once the rain left the deer were back. The most at any one time was 11 including 3 small bucks. She wanted a big buck so she passed all the does till just before dark and the she whispered to me "can I shoot that big doe" and I said shoot away. a 5 yard shot and a 40 yard recovery and my baby had her first doe. She thinks the doe is so pretty she wants it mounted and it will be. At 11 years old she showed more composure than alot of men with alot more experance than her. Points for team two youth contest and waiting on the big one next weekend. I'm so proud.[up][up][up][up]

Thank you for all the good comments. I've shot hundreds of deer in my life but when my daughter is about to shoot i get more excited than if I were shooting. She is such a breath of fresh air and makes going out more fun than I ever thought possible. I can't wait till she get a shot a big Jersey buck.
