Ok guys. I have the week off. How do you feel about the activity. My friend hunted this morning in Z12 with not much action. What's going on as far as the rut? Is it going to amp up or is it almost over. What's your opinion? Thanks Mike.

This is the week that most does will come in. Actually that usually slows down the buck sightings as most of the bucks will be locked down on there does. However if you can stay on the does Mr big has to be somewhere.

Yesterday was my best sit all rut. I hunted a run from the bedding area to a bait pile and had great action all morning. The afternoon I switched to the bait and had a lot of bucks coming in with does. Did not see the buck I was hunting but had a great day otherwise. I can't get out this week untill later but i wish I could. Does are filling up on acorns and not hitting the bait that much from what I have seen especially corn way too dry and hot out. Just what I have seen. Get out there good luck[up]

I've seen bucks locked down on does since Friday last week....heavy chasing last week too... You should be sitting all day when ever possible for the next 10 days

Seems like a trickle rut....
Not at all this is going to be a good year and Mako is right this week it's going to pop! Look at the does tarsal gland (hock) and you will notice them get progressively darker which means they are coming into estrus.

People say I am a nut gut it is the truth, in September they are white, the other day (Wednesday) they were blondish brown, and a few were darker but most that blondish brown
