I love swamps. You see more unusual bird life etc..Had a buck wind me one time and rather than keep coming or go back he dove into a lake and swam away:)Top that. Time of day never mattered. Hunting islands is even funnier when they come on and run around in circles as we blast away. I'm talking great swamp & mud that will suck you in not a small bog somewhere. Definiteley one of the more memorable places you can hunt[up][up][up]

End of October begining of November but genrally I'm pretty close to one. I like the area between the thick border area and the cedars. Seems in the pines they bed along the edges early and as the season progresses they move back into the cedars bedding on the clumps of higher ground. You need to be as quiet as possible getting in there and the wind must be right. Oh yea and you better stick em good in there.:D

Isn't everybody hunting a swamp this year? [rofl] I killed my first buck in a swamp (Crosswicks Creek), the bad thing about those spots is that it doesn't take a lot of rain to turn a boggy area into a full blown pond. The day I shot the Crosswicks buck I had to walk through water that was just higher than my muck boots-good thing he came in early-my feet were about froze!

I did in Pike county for a couple years. I never connected, but most guys that got deer there hunted just inside the swamp with very short shots.

Hunted a stand today that was nearly surrounded by water. Cool as heck when you can hear them moving through the water. Had more than 2 dozen deer under the stand today, just awesome!

I use em like a Boogey Board Ray lol
