So how did your club fair this 6 day gun season. Clubs please post your total and mention any nice bucks. Personally I did not see or hear all the clubs I usually hear yo bucking through the woods.

SHOCKER! A post about club deer numbers turns into a bashing of and argument about deer drives. Let it go guys, maybe this is why this sight doesn't attract hunters because they fear about their style of hunting is going to be bashed by some dude on the internet. This is why I usually do not go on here during this time of the year. Grown men acting like children, "my way of hunting is right and your's is wrong!" I was curious to find out numbers when I clicked on this post as well and I do not know why I expected anything but deer drive hating.

I'm not anti club, I've hunted with one and enjoyed it but I do wish they would not kill every deer they see, which is what happens.

I responded to this though because the hypocrisy of your post is just too funny. You do realize that the part of your post I bolded is EXACTLY what you are saying to others, don't you?

Okay driving is an old past time. Who care who drives..what I want to know is how many clubs now buy doe permits for the week?

If you meant I started this post to stir the pot you are far from correct. I like hearing the totals and highest rack since I started hunting. I especially like hearing about the south jersey clubs where I bowhunt. I know a club that hunts Chatsworth had their best week of 32 bucks killed last week. I saw some pictures yesterday and they had some nice bucks hanging.

King pin. I live in a realm of reality called regulation set zero. Where you cannot kill a antler less deer during 6 day. "Most clubs" do not hunt the one permit shotgun day we have in those zones.

OK fine

But dont make a blank statement about "most clubs" unless you follow it up with your disclaimer. How bout - most clubs in zones 21, 23, 24,43 and 45 during 6 day don't shoot does - cuz its illegal to do so" - Have you ever visited any other zones during 6 day? Perhaps 5, 19, 25,42,48,7,8,12,17,41,10, 11, 13,14,15,36,49,50,51? I'll venture a guess that there are more clubs in those zones that Set Zero - and the shot the shit out of does if they have the permits.

The thing I hate about the killing of doe during six day, and after that is they are all ready carrying babys, so for every doe you kill that is two less deer coming back next spring, and the sad part is, a lot of guys kill them and give them away, they just kill them to say Hey I got this many deer this year, when they really should not brag at all cause they did not hunt them, they just drive them to there death, I do not see how anyone can brag about a big buck that they kill on a drive, be a hunter, give him a fair chance, when you get him that way, you have a right to puff out your chest, I have been hunting over fifty years, and never been on one drive, and I have some pretty darn nice bucks on the wall. good luck what ever way you hunt, and be safe, and as long as you keep killing all the doe with next years deer in them, you will be crying about the low deer count where you hunt, three of us hunt private ground and take one doe each before the rut, we have a lot of deer every time we we go out, as well as some nice eights we let walk to grow, so do not blame every one or every thing else about the low deer count, it is you guys that kill next years deer before they even get here.

I can never understand this logic. Whether you shot a doe before or after the rut your taking her out of the breeding pool and she won't produce fawn's the following spring. Now if you don't want to shoot a doe because she may be pregnant. Then that's a moral or ethical decision on the hunters part and has nothing to do with deer management

buckhunter I am not looking to start shit, but I never understood this argument of killing deer after the rut is killing next years deer. Whether they were killed before or after the rut you are limiting the ability of the deer to produce next years deer. Makes no difference when they were killed. If the argument was that not all does get bred then it would make sense, but that is ridiculous because they all get bred.

Also your ignorance of grouping everyone(or a lot as you say) who does a type of hunting as "guys who just kill",because you don't like it is ridiculous too. You also comment on something you have never done, so your opinion holds no weight. Just as most people on this site who bad mouth someone else for not doing something the way they would do it, should learn to either try it before you put it down or just keep your comments to yourself.

Aside from the few that actually hunt throughout the season, guys who only hunt during 6 day are not hunters. Just like the a guy who only fishes 2 times a year is not a fisherman. The guys who only go out for deer for the week are going on a hunt not a hunter, just like the guy who only fishes a few times a year is just going out to fish he isn't a fisherman.

So to me it is laughable to call them fellow hunters when that isn't the case.

I mostly bow hunt but got invited as a guest on a 6-day Club hunt in the Pine Barrens a few years ago. I am in pretty good shape for My age (run, work out regularly). I must say that the driving was VERY HARD hunting physically and quite challenging. I think the club got 3-4 for the Week. And a lot of work went into those deer. It is not like shooting fish in a barrel as most people think. I was exhausted at the end of those hunting days.
