What exactly does everyone see in Glocks? Besides price point I don't get it. I've shot a couple, they aren't my style gun which is ok, one had 400 bucks work done to it so now price point no longer counts. Lots of guns are better right off the bat so why the fascination?

Plastic ... Yes
Boring ... Maybe

But the Glock is a pistol that seems to function no matter what you do to it. Damn near indestructible.

Though they may not be the most refined pistol out there, price point & reliability got them the market share they enjoy today.

Yes but reliability often comes from sloppy tolerances. Some Glocks seem accurate some horrendous. It's not, to me about shooting it's about hitting, accurately. Do lots of guys seem to not be so bothered by mediocre average accuracy?

I dont like Glocks either.

IMO, the 3 things leading to their popularity are the lower price and durability as others have mentioned, and I'll add "name recognition" to the list. Much in the same way that hoards of people buy Apple Iphones even though there are plenty of superior phones on the market at lower pricing. Everyone knows "Iphone" and everyone knows "Glock".

I understand the reliability factor, we can't carry in this State. I'm not hearing anything I haven't heard before. Guess I ain't gonna get it. To each his own
People who can carry like them because they are cheap, reliable and take a beating. Who cares if you sweat on it, get it wet or whatever. Most firefights are less than 20 feet and many under 10. Even at longer ranges Glock accuracy is fine.

I love the fact that anywere you look there is "bolt on" accessorie for them. The fact that they will fire any type of ammunition in any condition is a plus. I purchased mine for two reasons. I like that there is no actual safety and that the safety is in the trigger, everyone knows how to pull a trigger so being that mine is next to the bed most of the time, God for bid it's needed my fiancé doesn't have to look for a safety, just has to pull the trigger. Also when I decide to carry it God for bid I have to use it it'll most likely be confiscated until the investigation is over, being that it's a cheap gun it's not really a huge deal.

Easy to shoot, easy to clean ...or not. Super reliable, accurate, simple to work on and upgrade. What's not to like? If Delta operators will choose trust their lives to a G19, then screw your 1911 that has consistent FTF or FTE and needs constant pempering. Don't get me wrong, I like my 1911s, love my revolvers, but if I had to choose one handgun out of my collection for SHTF or any other scenario, it's my G19 and a bag full of loaded mags.
