Dan I have a few both fly and spin but probably my favorite is a 9'- 5 wt. Scott 4pc. Rod with a matching Teton reel it my be too big or to small for some of the places I have taken it but I have enjoyed that outfit just walking out back and from the tribes of Lake Iliamna to South Central Chili several western states and around the garden state. For bait and spinner etc.I have a 2 PC 7' Loomis Diawa outfit that has to be 30 years old and is one of the few that made it thru the fire we have history.

i prefer a fly rod for trout. 7'6 TFO Professional II with a Cabela's Prestige Premier reel.

but for trout ive got a 6 foot ugly stick with a cabala's fish eagle reel. not the best combo but it gets the job done.
