So not to stir the pot. Now that this year their is a fee. I dont mean to sound cheap but times are tough. I was wondering if theirs anyway for evening out the teams. The last two years I was in the contest my team did nothing I think one other person shot a deer and nobody communicated. I was wondering if their was a way to even the teams out since now we are paying.

years past totals. Im sorry but a lot of you know if your going to have a good chance at shooting a nice deer or any deer at all. For instance I average 5 deer a year and one buck. Is it luck that ive shot that many deer the past 5 season and one buck each season? Not really. Birdogs im hoping that that it keeps the people that enter and barely even hunt out.

Shoot more deer[rofl] You can win if you shoot alot of doe 5 points each[up]
That's not how it works at all .

You can only enter ONE deer (Buck or Doe) per participant.

you can UP GRADE your 5 point score only with antler points, you get an additional point for every antler point that is at least 1" long on a buck.

Doe = 5 points

Up Grade to a Buck = 5 points + antler point = Your Score

You can up grade your entered deer as many times as you can shoot a larger point rack, but no matter how many deer you kill you can only enter one deer per participant in the contest.

All,
The fee will be used for prizes.. Simple Cabelas gift cards that I can easily mail out.. If we get the same 204 members as last year, your looking at the possibilty of winning a $225 gift card for your $10... You never know what is going to walk under your stand..

Yea agreed Joe just hopefully the people are out in the woods to have somthing walk under their stand lol. Maybe a post with how many times you hunt approximatly a year.. Whatever this is just a fun contest just sick of having a team that I think joins the site and leaves.

There is a 100 post min. to enter and an entry fee to weed some people out. Joe took the time to think this through and put it together. The contest hasn't even started and already a negative thread. If losing a "fun" contest upsets you that much due to lack of teammate participation, perhaps you shouldn't enter. Not picking on you, just pointing out that perhaps you're taking this too serious.

I don't do deer contest, but good luck to everyone that decides to join [up]

I know that JJoe keeps things as fair and straight forward as humanly possible, in the end it's supposed to be about having fun with your fellow site members, don’t take it to serious and stay safe and ethical in the field. ;)

In BHNJ16's defense.
Our team (29) only had 5 members as compared to 6 on the other teams.
It probably also wouldn't hurt to allow each member to enter 1 buck and 1 doe.

Random teams are fair in a way but what if lets say JR Hunt and Elmo get placed on the same team. Im pretty sure that team right from the beginning would be better off than 90% of the teams. I just feel if your paying you should have to pay a team fee of whatever the amount of people you have on a team and pick your own teams.

But what if you were also drawn for that team....[confused] Then you'd want to double the entry fee.....[ko]

Deermaster do you know first hand that the teams are random?
No, but I'll keep the faith that they are....[drinking]

One good thing about the entry fee to keep the non-hunters out: I know I won't have BCsaw on my team....[rofl]
