The past couple of days bein looking around the internet for a scope to put on my 11-87 slug gun when i get it and i decided on the Leupold rifleman shotgun scope 2-7 w/ the heavy duplex cross hairs...i went to a few places to price it out and they were all around $205-210 (which anit a bad price) went to check Cabelas and it was $179.99 with free shippin and no tax...Couldnt believe it was $25-30 cheaper, so i just finshed ordering it and it should be here in 2-3 days[up][up]Thats why i love that store[up]

Essex,

Congrats on your new scope...If I may make a suggestion, always check ebay for optics before buying elsewhere. This is especially true when looking for generic models of Leupolds. Generally you will be able to purchase "up" at least a grade or two for less money than retail. (For example a like new Leupold VX-II 2-7 with butler flip up caps just sold last week on ebay for $200.)

In any case, good luck with the new set up...

Good looking out JC. I'm a big fan of eBay and have purchase 5 vehicles on there. Granted I'm an ASE Master Certified technician in light and heavy duty vehicles and it's much easier for me to make the repairs "if needed", not to mention the $ I save doing it myself.
eBay first then SWFA for scopes and mounts... [up]

Essex,

No problem. The funny thing is, Ebay and few other firearms related auction sites are the only place I think I have ever bought optics...

I can safely say I have saved close to $1k over the past two or three years by purchasing new, or like new, optics off these sites vs retail price...

JC

P.S. give me a few minutes and I will post a great example of a recent Ebay optics purchase I made...

SAD yea I'd say that would make a world of difference LOL.

Whats SWFA?

I have a few Leupolds from the VX-III in 3.5-10x50, to a few VX-II in 3-9x40, for which I have one on my Omega, 11-87, and soon one will be on my H&R single shot
