can anyone tell me what kind of spider this is?

My wife just got bit by this spider and is freaking out. I am a little color blind so I'm having a hard time figuring out which one it is. She thinks its a brown recluse I don't.

Picture is tough to tell


It was small body was less than a 1/4"

The bite of a common sac spider (Cheiracanthium) can be misdiagnosed as a brown recluse spider bite. Injuries develop in a similar manner but are much less severe. Reactions, such as swelling, slow healing, and ulcerated sores around the bite site, are similar enough to be confusing. If you are bitten by a spider, ice and elevate the bite site. Seek medical attention if the symptoms persist or intensify. Physicians will often prescribe antibiotics to prevent secondary infections. Most bites will start to improve in a few hours to 2-3 days.

Hope your wife is ok. That's a sac spider. I've been bitten by one. When I was a kid I used to sleep with two pillows stuffed into one pillow case. Turns out one of those bastards was in between the pillows one night and when I fell asleep I stuck my hand in. Woke up the next morning to my hand about the size of a baseball. Found the dead spider inside. Must have squished it during the night. Needed antibiotics but all was good in a day or two. I burned my parents house to the ground after and we didn't have any other issues. I suggest you get her antibiotics but tell her not to worry. Then burn your house down. (Lol good luck and all is true except the house burning down. )

ladybird, I do not mind spiders but I hate t he feeling of the web wrapped around your face! lol
In NC they had spiders that made these like 6 foot webs yuck! I beat a water snake to death when we were fishing in NC. My buddy was scared to heck it was trying to get in our small boat! I got out on land and freaked out when I walked into a web. He laughed so hard because I was freaked out about web but snake was no problem.

I am the same way. I freak all my buddies out when we come across a snake and i catch it. Love snakes. But if I walk into a spider web I look like I'm doing the Berny lol
