Matthew Kohere from Mount Olive, NJ Boy Scout Troop 312 has been growing his hair for two years for one purpose only, Locks of Love. After watching a friend donate his hair to the organization that provides hair for wigs for children with long-term hair loss, such as alopecia areata, Matthew decided that it was a cause he wanted to become involved with and made the decision to undergo the commitment needed to grow his hair long enough to meet the 10 inch length requirement. Although the last six months have been difficult, he has seen his goal through to the end. Earlier this week, measurements showed he had indeed reached the required length needed for donation, so on August 27, 2009, Matthew, in order to donate as much hair as possible, decided on a crew cut for himself.

Good job! I have donated to locks of love twice, and it's very rewarding... I am glad your son appreciates the value of doing something good for others. He's a great kid! And very handsome with his new crew cut! hehe
