Heres a big F U !!!!!!!

I'm pretty bitter right now I just got back from my goto turkey spot. And there are all new posted signs all over it.I stopped at the land owners house and he informed me that the farm next to him came to him and leased it all off of him.

As I see it, opening day for G weeks last year I was at this spot with my son, started my calling and had 9 gobblers going and countless hens. I was pulling them from the swamp in my piece, across the road and from this guys piece which is connected to my piece.
At 1/4 after 6 this guy blows off three shells, five minutes later I had three toms come to me and my son. One shot dropped him in his tracks.

Now seeing how he leased up the property this season, I take it as he missed and was pissed I shot one.

I didn't care he was over there its his property and there were over a 100 birds in the piece.

I guess I need to get another job and devote that salary and lease a piece just for me and my son.

The greed and desperation to kill something in this sport is overwhelming to me.

I'm just pissed off right at what hunting has turned into, I guess I need to tell my son if he wants to hunt he better get a good job, its just not a sport to get into for fun anymore its a totally competitive sport now.

Now you know why Gibersons and other places make out so well with Tower shoots and regular hunts. People have no place to go.

we lost our lease in Hunterdon [wallmad][wallmad][down] because the owners nephew likes to walk the property during prime time and we complained,d-head[wallmad]

thats what it's coming too, pay to play.
i pay to hunt one place.
but it's a great place. if you had the chance to hunt it for the money i pay, you would also.

Could always just hunt public land...the experts say it's great: full of game, no hunters. [eyeroll]

Sorry, couldn't resist that one. I feel your pain, in the same boat, and that's why I plan on hunting very little in NJ this year. Public land sucks, lost my private farm. I go hunting for relaxation and enjoyment, not constantly bumping into others, nocturnal or non-existent game, frustration and turf confrontations, which are all I seem to find on NJ's public land.

Actually I'm planning on joining a sizable lease in Delaware and Maryland, so I guess I'm one of those lessor's you're mad at. :(

Nah Doug, not mad at you. Matter of fact this piece is down the road from the piece you told me about, that your brother was hunting. across from the big farm. ;)

I dont agree with leasing but I guess if your fortunate enough to get in on a piece.

Its just the reason behind them leasing it, they just didn't want me in there this year.

it nobodys fault but this great state .unfortunately the farmers have to make ends meet some how .farming the land that used to depend on as a way of life is being cut short by all the the people in the concrete jungles of this state

What did the farm next to his lease it for, hunting or farming or both? Just cause someone leases property for farming doesn't mean he leased it for hunting. Check it out with the land owner. Maybe the agreement was only for farming. It's worth a shot. If it's leased for farming only... it's still the landowners property and he can still let you hunt it.
