Zone 50. Late season. Bow in hand. Snowing like crazy. Two guys one tree. Deer on the move. Two deer down. SICK!!!!
4:30 PM - Brandon had this dude down still sporting bone. he came in with two other racked bucks one
funky 8 point but his left main beam was broke off just above his brow tine. and a little basket six. they were trying to give me shot at one of them.coming back to find out what had happened to there buddy. but holding up at 40 thick yards. dead down wind.. they tried twice but just would not come in and eventually gave up. oh yeah these deer came up behind the way i was facing .. and Brandon and I already had agreed that it was my turn on the next decent racked buck to come in..well... with hood up and hat on i couldnt hear him calling my name.. so brandon knew that it was to late and if he had let them keep going they would have gotten to our down wind and it would have been over.. so as it was. i herd a brrrpp. turned my head to watch this dude drop in his tracks at ten yards.. was spined and fallowed up with a double lunger out in a second. shot had to be high so some branches dindnt come into play.

So with about 40 minutes of shooting light left we said to each other that we were sticking it out.. and good thing we did within the last 15 minutes of legal shooting time i see some deer coming from the way we expected the deer to come. in all 6 deer were heading our way. i let the four little ones pass two bb and two doe i think.. and then fallowed by the two old matriarch does. At 16 yards i let my G5 magnum striker eat.. slightly quatering too.. busted through the near shoulder and punched double lung.. dropped in her tracks.

what a sick hunt!!! These were both our first deer with the bow in the snow this late in the game!! Not to mention Brandon getting to take a good buck with all his head gear intact .... Us shore guys dont get to play in the snow to often... it sure does make it a lot of fun..
